Bells
We are delighted that our new set of 10 bells is now very much in use. The bells have rung out for Her Majesty the Queen as she passed the church on her way to St Paul’s Cathedral for her Diamond Jubilee service; for Team GB and ParalympicsGB as the Olympic & Paralympic Victory Parade passed along Fleet Street; for the procession of the funeral cortege of Baroness Margaret Thatcher; and for the licensing of our previous Guild Vicar, the Rt Revd Jonathan Baker. The bells are also rung prior to our lunchtime services.
Campanologists from all over the country are keen to come and ring the new bells; if you are interested in ringing at St Dunstan’s, please contact Dickon Love at dickon@lovesguide.com.
We are pleased to have the continued expertise of Dickon Love, and are most grateful to him, the Trustees of the St Dunstan-in-the-West Bells Fund, the Bishop of London (Patron of the Bells Fund), fundraisers and donors for the fruition of this project.
Please see Love’s Guide to the Church Bells of the City of London for the history of the bells and details of inscriptions.
Please check calendar of ringing times for the ringing list.
